If "0" is selected for template then the the rank will be used which is associated with the message (you can select the rank for message near the "Subject" field, or in "Posts list" you can set rank for message with a button at the top). If using .txt files you can as well add this line:

<user>NEEDED_RANK_NUMBER</user>

Will add that "Set rank" option there.

Я добавляю через txt, но не указывают ранг, у меня все сообщения выставляются автоматически с рангом один, мне так и нужно в принципе.
Как я понял если шаблон будет установлен ранг 2, а сообщение с рангом 1, сообщение будет опубликовано под пользователем с рангом 2

А если переустановил систему, заново скачал тема постер, или тема менеджер, достаточно ли будет скопировать то что находится в папке backup для полного восстановления данных?

For themaPoster - yes.

For themaManager - no. Copy the whole "user" folder for themaManager to restore all posts (backups folder only has main settings, not the posts).
